An examination of crucial crime indicators, drawing data from 151 Alberta RCMP detachments, was conducted by Great West Media. The study juxtaposed reported vehicle thefts from January to June 2023 with the corresponding timeframe in 2022. Grande Prairie, Wood Buffalo, St. Albert, and Cold Lake emerged as the leading communities with the most significant uptick in stolen vehicles during the initial six months of this year. Following closely behind were Strathcona County, Lac La Biche, and Athabasca.
